Landscaped garden with viewing deck

...was a diamond in the ruff waiting to be polished

A side plot garden in Sandgate had partially fallen in to disrepair and was an opportunity waiting to happen. With the vision of an artistic family who created the original design, we were able to deliver on that vision and we think, exceed expectation

Challenge

The new shed building underneath the top tier, supports one end of the decking platform and poor soil structure meant a creative solution to the foundation and structural design was needed. Re-cycling earth and rubble by shifting it from one place to another helped to minimise waste. The overall design gave us the scope and flexibility to do that.

Notes of interest:

The job was made easier and the end result was better due to the fact that the customers had lived with the space for a while and had thought really hard about what they wanted to achieve. The had provided us with some really clear, sketched plans which showed how many tiers they wanted, what each tier should 'be' and loosely what it should be made from. In particular, they spent time choosing the decking hardwood which was really beautiful and with an annual oiling, still looks great.
